Guided by simplicity as a response to the visual overstimulation of the contemporary world, his work favors clarity, restraint, and intentional image-making across both commercial and cultural contexts.
Artist Statement
Emiliano Moreno Quesada is an artist based in Thiotià:ke – Montreal, who works with photography, sculpture, and installation. His works often feature humor and appropriation, creating a complex web of ideas and associations. Drawing inspiration from internet culture, Emiliano explores its parallels with contemporary life and art history, examining how these connections inform his practice. As a Mexican immigrant raised in Canada, his work also focuses on notions of identity and place, particularly the experience of occupying an in-between space—a zone of transition. Emiliano investigates how this state shapes his creative methods, viewing identity as a collection of images and contradictory objects.
